Jena's Vision

Jena’s Vision represents what a cross-section of Councilmen, business leaders, Core Group members and citizens desire for Jena and the surrounding area for the next five, ten, fifteen years.

Over four hundred people from the Jena area provided input for this strategic plan. Many sacrificed their Saturdays and evenings to help the Mayor and Council identify strengths and areas that need improvement in order to obtain a sustainable path forward.

The overriding principle of this plan was to ensure that we preserved the culture and friendly small town atmosphere while we plan for greater growth and prosperity. Dedicated citizens and other stakeholders have made this plan viable and assures us of successful implementation.

We encourage the citizens to become familiar with the people’s vision for Jena and become a vital part of the implementation process.

Mosquito (ULV) Spray Schedule
Mosquitos Need Water to Breed

By removing water holding containers, leaf debris & keeping low-lying areas free of standing water, you can prevent the breeding of mosquitos around your home.
Dump anything that holds water twice per week. Birdbaths, non-chlorinated wading pools, garbage can lids, and pottery will all attract breeding mosquitoes. Remember to empty the saucers under your flower pots, and don’t leave water in pet bowls without washing for more than two days.
