As a gas customer you can request an EFV (Excess Flow Valve) on your service line if you desire. The Town of Jena will install this valve at the customers expense on the main gas line. The EFV valve is designed to shut off the flow of gas automatically if the service line breaks. The cost to install the valve is $500.00. The main line will have to be excavated to tap and then the valve will be installed. Any questions call Town Hall at 318-992-2148.
